The Opportunity
Math teachers at AEON ensure that students function as mathematicians every day. For grades 6-12, AEON employs a problem-based mathematics pedagogy and curriculum. Each week, students maintain a math notebook where they attempt solutions, pose questions, receive feedback, iterate, and reflect on errors to gradually master mathematical concepts. Our discussion- and problem-focused approach to mathematics emphasizes collaboration and communication, encouraging students to take active ownership of their learning and develop a deep conceptual understanding of the material. This position will support students in our Tutorial Pathway, which allows students to complete their coursework on a fully customizable schedule. In this role, you will facilitate discourse during one-on-one tutorials and office hours, provide targeted asynchronous feedback, and inspire students to cultivate a deeper understanding of mathematics and shape their mathematical voice.
