AEON School
Available worldwide with a Wi-Fi connection, AEON School is deliberately designed to promote deep, innovative learning with exceptional flexibility. With its interdisciplinary, project-based curriculum tailored for synchronous and asynchronous learning, a proprietary learning platform, and an outstanding collaborative global faculty, AEON is setting a new benchmark in online education. Our students come from over 40 countries, contributing their diverse cultural and geographical backgrounds and global mobility to their daily learning experience. From early childhood through 12th grade, our students learn online to thrive offline, applying their knowledge to their local contexts around the globe. At AEON, students are encouraged to take ownership of their education from a young age and cultivate the critical and creative thinking skills required to comprehend and address global-scale challenges.
The Opportunity
Through Physics, students develop an understanding of classical and modern concepts and an ability to apply their insights to the physical world. At AEON, our Advanced Physics course supports students in cultivating an understanding of topics including kinematics, Newton’s laws, wave mechanics, electricity, magnetism, and even the basics of quantum mechanics. Students engage in projects each week, encouraging them to conduct experiments, document solutions, and apply their knowledge to tackle real-world problems. As our Advanced Physics teacher, you will lead student discussions about the material during scheduled synchronous sessions and one-on-one meetings, provide thorough feedback in writing as students iterate on their weekly projects, and motivate students to delve deeper into the material while nurturing their scientific voice.
What You Will Do
- Serve as lead instructor for approximately 20 Upper Division students (grades 10-12) in time zones across the Americas; additional students may join throughout the academic year
- Ensure students achieve key learning outcomes in our advanced Physics course and target instruction to address individual student needs
- Lead weekly synchronous class and one-on-one tutoring sessions, coach/facilitate collaborative lab sessions, and provide asynchronous feedback, primarily via our digital platform.
- Utilize all resources available to encourage the success of each student by considering engagement with the coursework, quality of contribution during synchronous touchpoints, and preparation of individual work.
- Co-construct with students an environment that establishes high standards, fosters a sense of belonging, and upholds our values of welcome, safety, and respect.
- Collaborate with other faculty and deans; practice cultural competence in student and adult spaces.

- Experience teaching Physics, preferably advanced levels such as AP Physics, and a track record of student learning.
- Possess a strong sense of ownership and personal responsibility for the success of every student, as well as a commitment to creating a learning culture of equity and inclusion
- Display good judgment and sensibility
- Proactively seek honest feedback from others, receive critical feedback well, and apply learnings from feedback to improve your own craft
- Ability to set priorities in a changing environment, comfort with change, and experience approaching novel situations with curiosity and a can-do mindset.
